  1. Salut!I’m Carolina, friend of Tomasito and he introduced me to the wonderful creations of Cool Cavemen in Spain. Now I live in USA and have a radio show on my university’s station called « Voces del Café » which specializes in music from Latin America and Spain. With Tom we planned to do one show featuring Cool Cavemen, its history, music, and have live interviews. The shows are on Monday from 1-2 am (your time) and Thurs from 11pm-12am. You can listen on http://www.kwrs.fm, click on webcast. What you think? It would have to be all in english, hopefully all of you can be there at the same time during the phone interviews. I think a Thurs might be easier for you…Tell me what you all think and we can have Cool Cavemen broadcast all over the world!!

I’m sorry but i’m too tired (and a little bit drunk) to answer in english

  3. Sounds like we have to start working on an english version of the site earlier than previously planned… 😉

  4. Where are we going to do this? I can make unlimited calls to the US but the phone isn’t in my room. Maybe if we ask my flatmate…Should we prepare the questions before? Should I be the spokesperson? Are any others willing to try and speak English?Où est-ce qu’on va faire ça?

Can make unlimited calls to USA too… If you’re ok to move to my house.

Should we prepare the questions before? Should I be the spokesperson? Are any others willing to try and speak English?

If it’s appropriate, I can participate too.

  6. whatever you think is best will be appropiate. if it’s better for 2 members to be representatives, that’s ok. we could have it be part english, part french as long as we are all willing to translate. people from all over the world listen to our radio station and someone, somewhere will understand.as soon as you give me options for a date, i’ll begin working on a poster to advertise, using the format you used for the concert in Blooms Café.

  7. Tell us if you want that particular picture! We use it for all our concerts and we can send it to you.

  8. Sure. It will be easier to work with it digitally instead of using a scanned image. Thanks!

  9. Oh, by the way Nina, feel free to download anything you need on this website (mp3s, book, logo & pictures…).

  10. Yep, download the english pressbook, I’m sure you’ll find lots of interesting stuff to ask us questions about.PS I’ve sent the poster.

  11. Wow!!! The week after the 14! It will be the worst time to have a good interview (for me) because I will (with major part of cool caveboys) celebrate my birthday (and the one of Tomasito perhaps)… We will have some concerts at this repetend, and between, some several weighty party for our birthdays…Like as a lot of my english speeches, i just want you (readers) to s’cuse me for my very feeble english!!! (It does have a signification? I’m too drunk to have an answer! Rock’and’roll my friends!)

  12. Yeeha! Seems like Jimy Wong went to bed late yesterday. We won’t be celebrating your bithday every day that week, I guess it’ll be possible to do the interview (at Kev’s?) on monday or thursday.

  13. interview (at Kev’s?)

Why not ! I have some ideas to make us confortable enough… I mean, we can easily recreate a radio room with one mic and headphone per person and send all of this audio mess to a phone.Max, Tom, do you have enough gear (mix table, mics, cables) to set up this ? Can you remind me to talk about this the next time we meet ? 🙂

  14. I think we discussed it, it’s impossible to move the gear from the studio. Nina, will the 17th or 19th do?

  15. The 19th will do perfectly. The show begins at 2 p.m. Pacific time which means 10 p.m. for all of you and lasts for an hour. If you want it to be longer so we can talk about more items and play more music, we can start it a half hour earlier. Tell me what you think so we can start creating a list of things to talk about and questions to ask. YES!!

  16. I’ll announce it in today’s show. and make the posters after th show to put up all over campus!

  17. Tell me what you think so we can start creating a list of things to talk about and questions to ask.

A good starting point is the english book (did you download it ?).Then you can have a look to user’s comments on Jamendo (could be interesting to know what people think about Cool Cavemen) -> http://www.jamendo.com/fr/album/993/reviews/ and http://www.jamendo.com/fr/album/3511/reviews/Special review: http://freealbums.blogsome.com/2007/03/23/cool-cavemen-two-albums/You can also read the english lyrics.I think that’s all english materials we have. Hope this is enough fill 1 hour of show !By the way, I think we should try to contact each other by phone 1 hour or more before the show to test the audio quality and the gear.

  19. Bon, faut qu’on s’organise niveau matos.

  20. Nina: I can talk about Creative Commons licencing of our tracks (what is Creative Commons, why Cool Cavemen choose Creative Commons).Tomasito: Can you give my MSN/email to Nina ? Because I will host the events and do all technical stuff, I need a way to keep a live contact with Nina before/during/after the show.

  21. Nina: should we make a selection of commercial tracks that inspired us ? Or do you plan to broadcast Cool Cavemen materials only ?

  22. Thank you for the links. I shall be using them in the show. The earliest I can be in the booth is 1 pm (10 pm your time) so we can start making phone and sound checks. I can probably download Skype on to the station’s computer so that we can broadcast our conversation yet still receive phone calls from others.Of course you can play a couple of tracks that influenced your music. In fact, you can give me the track and band names and I can play them, for better sound quality. If i don’t have them I would let you know. But the focus is and will be Cool Cavemen. I want it to be a venue where you can talk about who you are and who you want to be as a band. Express yourselves!

  24. Nina: As for influences, try to find some old Incubus and Red Hot Chili Peppers material, those are our main influences. Apart from that, I can only think of Bumblefoot, Maceo Parker, Tower of Power (that I know you have), and all sorts of Funk-Rock stuff.

  25. I can probably download Skype on to the station’s computer so that we can broadcast our conversation yet still receive phone calls from others.

Can you confirm that you will be able to use Skype ? It would be nice: Skype is still the easiest way to send live audio stream anywhere in the world.

Pour résumer:* 12:00 am [US] / 21h00 [FR] : Vous pouvez arriver cher moi à cette heure ci (Cool Cavemen members arrive at home).* 1:00 pm [US] / 22h00 [FR] : Nina arrive au studio, 1 heure de balances (Nina arrive at the radio booth, 1 hour of sound check).* 2:00 pm [US] / 23h00 [FR] : Début de l’emission en live (Start of the show).* 3:00 pm [US] / 00h00 [FR] : Fin de l’emission (End of the show). Please double check the schedule and times, I fear timezones !Vérifiez deux fois les horaire et le planning, il est facile de se tromper à cause des fuseaux horaires !

  27. Yo thanx for everything Caro, it was great, we really enjoyed ourselves! We’re still at Kev’s, drinking beers (except me 😉 ).

  28. Yes, still there ! ;)BTW Nina, can we store a copy of the show on our site as archive ?

  29. thanks to all of you! fantastic hit and now i can refer people who have been asking about the band to your website and have them listen to the show.merci!!!
